How to…export TBird Mail and Addresses to your GMail Account
(NOTE: First, establish your GMail account (see How to…start a free GMail account)
  1. Double click on Thunderbird Email icon on Desktop.
  2. Left click on Address book.
  3. Left click on Tools.
  4. Left click on Export (this opens an export address book window).
  5. At top, use arrow to select Save in: Desktop.
  6. At bottom, type a file name (Contacts).
  7. Under that line, in the Save as type dropdown , left click on Comma separated (this saves the contacts as a csv file).
  8. Left click on Save.
  9. Double click your GMail account icon on your Desktop.
  10. In the top right corner, left click on Settings.
  11. Left click on Accounts and Import.
  12. On the Import mail and contacts line, left click on Import from another address.
  13. See the Step 1 window titled: Sign into your other email account
  14. See What account do you want to import from?
  15. Type your TBird address in the box. (_@laposadagv.net) Left click on Continue.
  16. See Enter the password for _@laposadagv.net Type your TBird mail password.
  17. Left click on Continue
  18. Type your TBird password again
  19. Pop user name is the full TBird address (@laposadagv.net)
  20. Pop server is: pop.1and1.com (port 110 is the correct default)
  21. Left click on Continue
  22. See the Step 2 window
  23. Left click on desired options
  24. Start Import
